Take CDI CAD classes from home or the office Because there has been an increased interest in classes being available from home or office- off campus, CDI has decided to offer any appropriate CAD class remotely. It will be the right of individual instructors to determine if their class can be accomplished at home. This opportunity has been available in the past for Pro/ENGINEER classes; CDI 70, 71, 74, and 79. It will now be potentially availble for all CDI CAD classes with the persission of the instructor of record. Questions and answers Class agreement and contract To sign up for and do the home-based/internet version of a class you must complete every step listed here: Enroll at De Anza College. Register for a specific CDI CAD course. Contact the instructor through email, see the class page. You must be on the CAD-Resources email list. Send an email to [email protected]. Get the instructors permission using email. Purchase the software used in the class, Student Edition, Tryout Edtion, or have the commercial version available at home or work. You cannot use an old version of the software. You must own or have access to a computer that will run the software. Note that the instructor will not assist in sofwtare loading or your computer system problems. Purchase the assigned textbook, see the class page (you cannot use an old version of the text). Download the class outline from the class page. Download the class green sheet from the class page. Download the class assignment sheet from the class page (may be different than on campus class). Next you have to complete each of the following tasks: Complete each textbook project as assigned and email them to the instructor. Complete quizzes if required. Email the quiz to the instructor. Complete tests if required. Email the test to the instructor. Make email or phone contact with the instructor during the last week of the term. Receive an Email Reply the instructor at the end of the term- stating your grade. Note: Instructor lectures and assistance are available in class only. Lab tech assistance is available in class only. Computer-based learning aides, i.e., CADTRAIN are available only at the CAD facility, not off campus. You may email your instructor for assistance. Complicated graphical-related questions and project assistance must be done in class, in person. You may attend lectures and to seek assistance from the instructor in person during scheduled class hours.(you will not be guaranteed a seat in the class if you have opted for the off campus version, though is most cases there would be room. You must ask the instructor to switch from off campus to in on campus status. Start with any beginning CAD class: CDI 60, CDI 70, CDI 80, or CDI 85. CDI 51 GD&T can also be taken with this option. Classes may be repeated every time the software revision changes. As an example: AutoCAD 2004, AutoCAD 2005, etc.The corresponding CDI class letter name will change: CDI80A, CDI80B, CDI80C, etc. |
